Hakha Education College was allowed to open on 4^th December 2017 according to the agreement of the Cabinet Meeting of the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar held on 24^th December 2015, the Office of the Union Minister Letter No (17/2015) dated on 1^st January 2016 and the Administration (Order) 2016 (0051) in Chin State.

It was begun with Diploma in Teacher Education, Batch (22/17) First Year Course on 4^th December 2017.

It was also upgraded to Four Year Term Education on 1^st September 2020 as 25 of Two-Year Education Colleges were upgraded to the Four-Year Education Degree Colleges on 1^st September 2020 according to the agreement of the Union Government Meeting No. (16/2020).
